First things first... changing the QAD schema (and yes, adding your own table to it is a change) is generally not a good practice to have. It's much better to put your data in a separate database, or to use one of the other methods for storing data. On a side note, Greg Sevison of AmSafe will be doing a presentation on exactly that process at the September Midwest User Group (www.midwestusergroup.org).
Okay... with that out of the way, mfgutil usually uses the compile database set. If you added your table to production but not to the compile database, then indeed, it doesn't exist. You can tell mfgutil to compile against production instead, but there are a host of reasons why that can become problematic. You're better off IMHO with adding it to the compile database (and every other database) as well.
