Hello, we use Customer Item Maintenance to set up customer items in a cross reference to our part numbers so that the customer part number prints on the documents as well as our part number. We have an existing customer blanket order with many lines and they recently changed their part number. I am unable to update the customer item number in the cross reference because there are open orders for that item and so it appears the only way to have the new part number reflected on the order is to completely delete the existing order, change the customer part number in item maintenance and then have to re-enter the blanket order so that it reflects the new part number.
Does anyone know of a way to overcome this? Can the system be forced to accept the new part number and refresh the number on the existing order. Having to delete and re-enter the blanket order is a gross waste of time and it seems like there should be a way around it. Thanks!
