You cannot use the type as they are preset and are used by the system.  so why not just use the pricelist name?  For eaxmple start all special price lists with "Z".

Phill,

Thanks for your reply.  We use a pricelist name of "OEM" and as I understand, if you use a different name then you have to change the pricelist name in 2.1.1 which means that anything that was set to "OEM" won't be recognized / picked up.  Is there a way to have multiple pricelist names recognized?

We thought that using Type L would be great because we could then just update it to Type P when the price became permanent.

If you are planning to move to EE in the future this may not be your best solution as the L option is removed from Customer Schedule price list maintenance.  2.1.1 is just a default.  If you change it, it does not affect any current orders.  also you can change it manually when you create an order.  Not the perfect solution but if you had ZOEM then it would be very easy to create reports to show you which customers and schedules are using the sales price.  If it is a temporary sales price you could use the OEM but set the start and end dates for the sale speriod

Phill,

We would like to move to EE, but no timetable yet.

ZOEM would be good solution but we were looking for an option that would be transparent to the Customer Support group who are the ones who set up the 7.3.13.

Just to clarify, will amount type L work with customer schedules or not?

A little history of QAD.  Many years ago the price list you are using for schedules was actually the only price list model and that is why on 2.1.1  you see 2 fields.  However, when they introduced best pricing they moved the old price list to be the pricing method for schedules but it only uses discount tables therefore you cannot set up a type L.  Basically the field price table is no longer used.  I think you could get the ZOEM process to work.  Change it on 2.1.1 and then as customer service enters NEW orders it would pick up ZOEM and then when the sale is over you can switch it in 2.1.1 back to OEM.   As I said earlier the only way to control it with some automation is to use date control on the price list.  BUT remember that QAD uses the date shipped to determine the price not the date entered.  In a regular SO it is based on the date entered
